Kountry Xpress Reviews

This was a gas stop along the 40 freeway heading towards Little Rock. There was a larger gas stop across the street but I picked this spot for my dogs. After gassing up, I asked to use the restrooms to fill up a dog bowl. The staff took my bowl and filled it up and returned it. This was very unexpected and good to note that hospitality does exist in this part of the country.

The food was simple and really good . Ordered daal tadka , paneer bhurji , naan and roti , all tasted really good .

Best food and service I love it . Vegetable rice are super delicious with pickle was nice

OMG that was good! We just grabbed the fish pakora and lamb samosa and they both were phenomenal! We were stuck in traffic pre-eclipse and grabbed food on a whim. I think we will plan the trip back through to grab some of the way back.

Best goat vindaloo I've ever had. Worth your time and drive! Service was excellent. The location is in a gas station, but don't let that stop you from a great meal!

The food is great. Every time we travel through this is a place that never gets missed. I always get the Lamb Vindaloo and my wife gets the meat Samosa. Great kitchen and friendly people who work back there.

The food is so so good. Very friendly. Fast too. Sure it's in a gas station but they have ok seating too.

Good food but prices go up everytime I stop. But always fresh and good love there goat!!

Home-style Southern Dining in Mulberry, Arkansas
Walk into Kountry Xpress, and the first thing you’ll notice is the welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where the staff knows regulars by name, the coffee is always hot, and the food is straight out of Grandma’s kitchen. Whether you're passing through on I-40 or live nearby, this local diner has become a favorite eating spot for anyone craving hearty, homemade meals.
Expect classics like chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes smothered in gravy, and fluffy biscuits that feel like a Southern hug. But the real surprise? Their breakfast menu is available all day, featuring buttermilk pancakes, eggs cooked to order, and crispy bacon. I personally stopped by on a cross-country trip and ended up staying for a second cup of coffee and pie—because who can say no to a slice of warm apple cobbler?
Comfort Food with Consistent Quality
What sets Kountry Xpress apart from the usual roadside diners is its consistency. From the crispness of their fried catfish to the buttery softness of their cornbread, there’s a noticeable attention to detail. The kitchen doesn’t cut corners, and you can taste it in every bite.
Menus here are thoughtfully crafted. You won’t find a clutter of dishes, just straightforward options that let the ingredients shine. Think seasoned burgers, golden fries, and hand-breaded chicken tenders. Every dish feels balanced—seasoned right, served hot, and portioned to satisfy without overwhelming. And if you’re traveling with picky eaters or kids? There’s a solid children’s menu and plenty of choices for light eaters too.
One regular I chatted with at the counter swears by their meatloaf special on Thursdays, while truckers passing through seem to favor the gravy-covered country fried steak. These little insights only confirm what you’ll taste for yourself: this place doesn’t miss.
Where Flavor Meets Friendly Service
Aside from the food, the service experience at Kountry Xpress makes it stand out. It’s not just about fast refills and polite greetings—there’s a genuine friendliness that makes you feel at home. The waitstaff often makes time to chat, offering recommendations or checking in like you're family. It’s rare, especially when so many diners today feel rushed or impersonal.
The location itself is easy to find and offers plenty of parking. Positioned conveniently near major roads, it serves as a great pit stop for travelers but is also rooted in the Mulberry community. Locals treat it as a gathering spot—especially on weekends when families, retirees, and teens all gather under the same roof for pancakes and laughter.
If you care about more than just the plate in front of you—if you’re looking for a place with character, consistency, and charm—this is where you’ll find it.

What a nice surprise! I just stopped in for gas, but it was lunchtime so I decided to try some food - fish curry and special Naan. Y'all, this stuff is the real deal. They even have a Tandori oven! I ordered two more dishes - chicken 65 and Tandori mixed grill - to take home and share. Mango Lassi was well-balanced and not overly sweet. The gal working was very helpful with recommendations and was very nice. Great experience! Check it out!
